Kevin drag races a Porsche with interesting results.
Kevin’s Race
Today was just another day,
As Kevin drove to work,
All the traffic lights were red,
It drove him quite berserk,
He pulled up at another set,
A Porsche pulled up beside,
Kevin revved his motor up,
His engine often died,
The guy within the Porsche looked up,
A smile touched his face,
He misconstrued Kev’s revving up,
He thought it was a race,
He touched his pedal to the floor,
The Porsche let out a roar,
Kevin couldn’t beat a Porsche,
Of this he was quite sure,
Kevin couldn’t win this race,
To try would be deranged,
His car just wouldn’t hack the pace,
The traffic lights then changed,
Engines roared and tyres burned,
And people were appalled,
The smoke then cleared, the Porsche was gone,
And Kevin’s car had stalled,
Kevin started up his car,
And drove off down the street,
Oh, what a way to start the day,
Oh, what a sad defeat,
But Kevin’s day soon brightened up,
As down the road he looked,
There at the roadside up ahead,
The Porsche was getting booked,
“I’m really sorry officer,
I didn’t mean to speed,
In fact it wasn’t my fault,
That I did this dirty deed.”
“Of course not,” said the officer,
Who took the licence plate,
“You realise in a sixty zone,
Your speed was one oh eight?”
As Kevin passed this little scene,
He shouted to them, “Hey!
Aren’t you the same policeman,
Who was here yesterday?”
