About a girl who doesn’t keep her room clean. Inspired by Shel Silvertein’s Sarah Cynthia Sylvia Stout.

Kimberly Kristin Dorothy Kox
Had a room that was full of socks.
Her clothes were flung all across the floor.
It seems as if someone had waged a fierce war.
On the door, a sign said, “Stay Out!”
And everyone knew what that sign was about.
Kimberly would bring snacks up to her room,
Where they would meet their ultimate doom.
There were oranges that weren’t quite orange.
There was spaghetti hanging on a door hinge.
There was steak that was hard as a rock.
There was pink gum covering the lock.
And so that poor Kimberly Kox
Was stuck in the room that was filled with the socks.
She tried to get out
And started to pout.
Her cries reached her parents
Named Sheri and Terrance.
They pushed and they shoved,
But the daughter they loved,
Was stuck inside.
In her room she would forever abide.
And so my dear, pick up your socks
Or share the fate of poor Kimberly Kox.
Although Kimberly is stuck in her room,
She has not yet met her unfortunate doom.
She lies in her bed, closing her eyes
As she wishes for some sweet apple pies.
Under the door there are some large cracks
Through which Kimberly receives some snacks.
Like Oodles of Noodles
And warm apple strudels.
But she cries all day and she cries all night
Because she is stuck in a room that is full of fright.
That poor girl named Kimberly Kox
Should have gotten rid of all of her socks.
