The King and Queen of Siam had many descendants in the Land of Cats. After Kate died at 96, her cats were taken to their local SPCA and some were euthanized.

The King and Queen of Siam

Lived as Siamese cats

In the Land of Cats

- – -

It began with an old woman

Who on losing her husband

In an automobile accident

Deciding to adopt two cats

- – -

King and Queen became her closest

Companions

And she was ecstatic about them

- – -

She never had them neutered

For she wished to have

Many Siamese cats

- – -

True enough kittens arrived

In litters

And before long they overran

Her lovely home and farm

- – -

Her cats displayed hunting

And stalking behavior

Clawing on furniture

Fetched birds

And mice from outside

- – -

She watched them

Observing their prey

And  demonstrating

Their chasing abilities

When they encountered

Squirrels and rabbits

- – -

She provided kitty litter boxes

Took photographs of them

Which she referred to lovingly

As her children

And would invite a couple of youngsters

To care for her pets

When she had medical appointments

- – -

Kate never took vacations

She felt it her duty to play with her gang

Groom them

And keep them as happy as possible

Feeding them the best chow

- – -

They meowed with pleasure

Rubbing their furry bodies against her legs

Jumping up to be cuddled

While she sat in her recliner

At night in her neglige

To take a break from it all

- – -

When she died at the ripe old age of 96

She had dozens of cats living on her farm

The SPCA was called to retrieve them

Transporting them to their facilities
