On a shore they never knew.

Source

Angelic breath speaks
With star-crossed wings
And, swims across the river blue
While a storm spills forth
Floating, toward a shore they never knew

Drums beat in the summer’s heat
Rain falls to kiss and caress silken bronzed skin
Flames curl and lick oaken logs once again

Deserted by the sound of company
Stranded, on an isolated mirage
Of what might have been

Bend near a fallen tree
A reminder of days gone by
And how the heart can break and split
In an instant, toward sudden goodbyes

Without a heart, without a word
It’s a moment, that’s somehow understood

Silence grips the air and stirs it around
Spins it a little, just to see what can be found

Darkness embraces midnight

In quickest haste
Stride faster toward the light
A pace to always remember
Love’s, delicate face

This read has such a dramatic feel to it created by not only the tone and flow, but the word choice and suggested sentiment. Very well written. Michael
