Cats can climb up trees quickly, but because of the way their claws are curved, must back down the tree. Because of this, a house cat with no tree climbing experience can become stuck in a tree. Sometimes, we humans operate in much the same way.
Silly kitten up a tree
Climbing up so fast and free
But now, she can’t turn around
Can’t find a way back to the ground.
Somehow, that seems like me
Study hard, get the degree
Campaigne like crazy, get the job
Work like some old farmer’s cob
Now, too far above the ground
I need a way to get back down.
Silly kitten cried all day
While her family coaxed twixt work and play
As dusk closes help is at hand
To help a silly kitty land.
Promises, hope and dreams
Not every job is all it seems
Basing today on tomorrow’s plan
A house of cards before a fan
Catch a handful as they fly by
And hope that angels hover nigh.
