A romantic poem.

I may never be the knight in shining armor

You read about in your story books.

I don’t have the muscular build

Or the above average looks.

I don’t have a gallant steed

To ride to wherever work needs to be done.

And, to tell you the truth, if I ever saw a fire breathing dragon

I would probably turn and run.

But, unlike that knight,

You’ll never see me chasing after every damsel in distress

Or think I’m some sort of gift

To every woman in a dress.

Because, what I feel for you

Is anything but routine

And, rather than being a carefree knight in shining armor

I would much rather worship you as my queen.
