When men were men.

I am the black knight
I am here to challenge the knight in white
One look and people take flight
But bravely cheer as we come into sight.

The aim is to knock our opponent off his horse
As we ride towards each other
With our long pole aimed at each other on our course
Where we miss or hit one another.

The more times you fall
The more chance you will lose
The winner will take it all
While the losers ego will be battered and bruised.

I am the knight in black
The good guy versus the bad
Riding out on horseback
It’s time to get started, as I am a cad.

After a few goes of each falling off our horses
It’s time to see who is the champion of the game
The winner gets to marry one of the king’s daughters
To take her hand in marriage you will become a household name.

Excellent poem about an exciting time in history. I’ve never been a knight–only a jester.
