My own personal prayer/chant for guidance in times of darkness, doubt, and fear.
Knight’s Plea
By John Aspen P. Catingub
Let no pain be born in vain
Lest in darkness I shall remain.
Though my heart trembles feart to bear,
My hope still lives in me – I swear.
On my right: I grasp the shield.
On my left: The sword I wield.
I am armed with my own resolve,
And my fear – doth all dissolve.
Though my soul is still unclean,
My true acts right the means.
As my end will come to a close,
So shall my sword strike down my foes.
Whether I would be victorious…
Or slain.
Or to be casted aside…
And driven insane.
“Let no pain
Be born in vain,
For God is with me,
And shall remain.”
A soldier within,
And a fear without,
Remember these,
When in faith you doubt.
