Sometimes, when I work on a craft, I remember the first time I did a particular pattern. I remember who I made if for and why, where and when I worked on it.

Knitting;

Knitting a Kerchief

So I can write about it.

Knitting;

And easy project

No pattern, I could sleep knit.

Knitting;

I remember learning,

Learning to knit on the diagonal.

Knitting;

A soft sweet blanket

A blanket for my daughter.

Knitting;

On a quiet morning

Cashiering at a liquor store.

Knitting;

Cashiering, instead of my husband

Because he was fired from that job.

Knitting;

Because I work the slow shift

I make change like a child counts.

Knitting;

Now to tell people how

Then, to clothe my daughter.

Knitting;

Because I know how

Because it fills a need.

Knitting.

    Knitting makes me feel a connection with all of the generations of women knitting clothing for their families since whenever it was invented. My grandmother taught me to knit by sitting me on her lap and moving my fingers. I love the feeling of an item growing under my fingers. Great poem.

    I also love to knit but am warned not to because of high myopia, oh dear how I would like to hold those needles again. thanks for reminding me.

    I can see you love it. My mother use to knit and she tried to teach me but I didn’t have the patience. Sometimes now I wish I had tried harder back then.

    It is a gift being able to create with just a spool of yarn and time.
