A poem about Spring time.

Lady Spring

O branches bare and barren field,

Frost worn garden it’s time to yield -

Slumber no longer, stir yourself,

The sun is here feel it’s wealth.

Creatures small and sleeping deep

Rouse your souls and conscious keep.

Slumber no longer, feel the light,

for Spring is here fresh and bright.

The earth is warm and waking new,

buds show green and Spring skies are blue

Daffodils shake their golden heads,

the sleeping dormouse leaves his bed.

Nature welcomes our Lady Spring,

moths aflutter, all’s blossoming

Fields of green and young lambs abound,

Bluebells dancing on woodland ground.

O Lady Spring, your energy send,

All Earth’s creatures lovingly tend!

Another good poem here making use of both flora and fauna. It works for me.

Liked it but, on second read, I found the ABAB rhyming pattern a bit distracting. Wonder what a different pattern would do for it. Never tried it on modest number of rhyming things I have done but maybe I’ll try it just for the sound of it.
