The lake with lamps ignited and left to sail away their flame a glowing hope or desire…

Under the ebon quilt of the sleeping earth lost in slumber

With a million eys of curious cherubs gazing at the earth

With its whispering blowing wind with dewy figertips

And the rustling leaves fluttering and gossiping

The nightinglale filling the vessel of solitude with honeyed melody

Silhouettes of silent trees half asleep in the soporific environs

Owls hooting to break the monotony of the silence

Fireflies in twinkling bevies flying in the balmy night

Cicadas still moaning at length their saga of endless plight

The departed souls are like comets trversing at whim to the earth

Flowers in the fragrant bowers in meads droop with drowsy eyes

Dozing off at the breeze’s lullaby till the sun wakes them with tickling warmth

And in this haven of quietitude and solivagance

A serene alcove of nature , an oasis of calm and tranquility

In the lake riddled with violethyacinths and pink and white lotuses

There sail a thousand lighted earthen lamps with golden glow

They are set to sail in the indigo waters aglow with hopes and yearnings

Taking the desires of the craving souls as messages to the heavens

The incandescent lamps are lighted to ward away hopeless dejection

And to keep faith alive and refulgent

And innocent trust that if you belive hopes blossom

And as these lamps sail away their carnival of resplendence

Witnessed by gems of stars and flying firefly

Are envied for their serene tranquil aura of hope

If the eyes of cherubs andd peeping angels

Were to decipher the message of the lamps

Life would be a more pleasant trail to walk…
