About a Dream.

One night I sat in the lap of luxury
Classy, elegant, and uncomfortable
I dressed appropriately
I prepared to be social
And ready to drink
I drank my sorrows and my cheers
We defined laughter
We laughed
That night
One more drink
One more smoke
I found a place at the table
Next to an older woman
She looked tired
Her wrinkles looked wicked

Once before her face was a painting
Now she is on the wall in the attic
Stuck and sneezing all over herself
Beams of light carry her
But do not make it far
She told me this with the lines
The lines on her
I am on the wall in the den
With lions, and she knew it
