From the realms of sleep…

I wake up, still fading deep
Into lingering slumbers chaotic
Familiar themes– some unknown, few exotic
Take hold as numbness creeps
Oh Lord, I fear those electronic beeps
Lead me to that Eden there
Here You tended my garden so rare
I live in those flowers, virgin and pure
They wither and bloom in beliefs, forever sure
That some were friends, with hearts vast
Now may Your Angels  guide this journey last
As memories tumble and the vision blurs
See those kittens play musical purrs
The lamp still burns and the flame still leaps
In blue, green and yellowish orange heaps
Its quite near but lonely and far
That Golden Chariot afloat my striped candy bar!

Beautiful poem. Captivating images and a powerful message.
