Just a short poem.

Sorrowful songs play misery
Heartfelt apologies say I am sorry
Lies can be spoken,
Even in the dark
Hoping for a sign
or hint of a spark
Caught off guard,
There is no denial
Smiling inside all the while
Perfecting mistakes,
I swear I am not broken
Cannot see inside someone’s heart
If they are not open
The warning signs are up,
and here are my last two weeks
I will wear something black,
Won’t you write my farewell speech?

This rings with a real nice flow. It catches many ideas as it begins to pull the wonderful poem together so well. YOu have such a great gift my friend.

I like this. For some reason it reminds me of a Leonard Cohen song.
