The colour lavender for me is like the memoy of first love…
Lavender breathes out fumes of passion
As a primordial shoot
Just born , embryonic
A newly unfurled bud just released
From the green tentacles of sepals
An amalgamation of pink and blue
Concocted by Nature’s brush
The hue reflected on juvenile cheeks
Of maidens smiling shyly
Or the clenched fist of cherubs
Wailing at being banished
From the golden gates of paradise
To sojourn in the land cursed
By Pandora’s unwanted gifts
The shade of soft lips
Of the lotuses that smile
In muddy stagnant waters
Or the hueful fragrant satin
Of the roses abloom on thorny boughs
Is the colour of femininity
Of coral shells, of apple blossoms
That are fertile with pearls or fruits
Blue is the colour on Nature’s pastels
That shines on the celestial dome
That enshrouds the worldly arena
As a protector, a shield
Or that reflected in the hurling waters
Of the boisterous ocean waves
The colour of blood of royalty
Or flowing in vein of bureaucracy
That flowing from the lips
Of the dancing consort of sublime papers
Spilling the radiance of knowledge
Or the redolence of emotions
Or even sketching a silly doodle
- Strokes of the subconscious mind
And when the vigour of blue
Mixes with the tenderness of pink
In the vessel of pulsating life
The shade of lavender evolves
And is spun on the loom
Of the soul
Into immortal memories…
