A journey of the mind to no place in particular.

Raindrops on the window open doorways of my mind,

Leading me to far off places nowhere else for me to find.

With worlds of time and pathways of wonder,

A sojourn to a dreamland begins with the crack of thunder.

Blinded by the flash of lightning my eyes suddenly see,

And I’m in a forest, nestled in a plush green lea.

The trees sway gently in the breeze as the birds sing,

Lulling me into relaxation’s ease, my mind free of everything.

Nothing to do and nothing to say, I enjoy the quiet day.

Dormant, yet fulfilled time to linger, where I may.

Hours float by like moments, as I’m on a pedestal of a dream,

Wrapped in the wonderment, kept in awe by the scheme.

Prisoned by a thought, with no desire to ever escape,

Veiled in an illusion, as if blanketed eyes were draped.

Then freed to envision the peaceful serenity of life,

Quelling discordant harmonies that cause all strife.

Free to live and exist with worries not of the making,

Given the chance to know life’s enjoyment for the taking.

Eternal bliss given by the memory of an illusion made,

And a time I may reminisce when I choose to trade.

Leaving behind the turmoil of my life at hand,

Where once again I can journey to a place so grand.

An escape from reality to cleanse the spirit and mind,

A chance to recoup, and become fresh, leaving despair behind.
