Beyond shadows of a forgotten date, the heart still yearns, though late…
Searching for a lost soulmate
Humming songs grown stale, mocking fate.
Eyes scan the old iron gate
Mellowed rusty with a painful weight,
It was a never ending wait –
time moved slowly with measured gait.
I remember that verdant fern patch
With golden green ladybirds to match,
Play host to my princess’ charms
As butterflies dazzling descended in swarms.
Alas ! there never was a reason,
Why fate conspired a sly treason ?
Memories forever conjure a balmy retreat
Where lemon blossoms linger, forever sweet.
