This poem has a deeper message than what it may seem. Considering that I understand the actual myth of a leprechaun and it is something isn’t good, which is what built this poem. A note to the reader is that I am connecting it to something in the real world. I’ll leave it to the reader. Comments are open.
Leprechaun
Cheeky
Bugger.
Green fingers
And red eyes.
Satan’s Pranksters.
You’re everywhere
I look
And still
You won’t tell me
Where your
Pot of Gold is?
Maybe to look
Under a rainbow?
Or under your
Very mattress.
Might just wanna
Give it all back
Leprechaun
Because you
Won’t need it
Where you’re going.
Make me
The Perfect Shoe
Yet you always
Sneak a
Deadly Price.
Green fingers
Greedy
You are.
Too old
You are.
Why can’t
You just die
You stupid bugger.
Outsmart me
And you outsmart
The World
As well.
Satanic Prankster.
And all you are
Is a smile
And everyone thinks
You are so wonderful.
So happy
So lucky.
So devious
So possessive.
Green fingers
And greed.
Satan’s
Little
Pranksters.
Hiding
In the green.
And that
Is all
That you are.
A greedy
Little
Leprechaun.
