Today 11th November 2009, 91 years gone passed ,the First World War did end.
Lest we forget
Lest we forget
Soldiers who gave up their lives
Be it World War one or second
Or be they the unknown boy soldiers
Who once said in Kohima,
‘When you go home
Tell them of us and say
For their tomorrow
We gave our today’
Who ever they be fighting
Or having fought in wars
Skirmishes too
By man wrought
Be it Pakistan, India, China
Or
Bangla Desh, be it now Afghanistan
For that matter the
United States and
Canadians have lost so many
Can we dare not salute them?
Today is the war Veterans Day
Eleven hours,
Eleventh day
Eleventh month
Some ninety-one years
Gone past life’s weary ways
In 1918
The First World War did end
Those soldiers we remember
Who then had brushed life away?
Let us all stand up
In absolute silence and pray
For two minutes
For those souls
Who then had passed away
At the Tomb
Of the unknown soldier today
We all unitedly stand to pray.
