LET GOD HAVE CONTROL

Seems we all struggle

with dread and despair

that we don’t need to carry

if we’d just say a prayer

and put our faith in Jesus,

He’ll help carry our load

of  burdens and baggage

as we follow the road

that He blazed and sheds light on

so we won’t be lost,

or must pay for our self

our toll He paid on the cross.

He said if we’d trust Him,

would in faith believe,

that he’d make our yoke light,

we’d His blessings receive.

He said He’s the shepherd

and we are His sheep

that He will lead through dark valleys,

and over the mountains steep,

and that He’ll never leave us;

He’ll lead if we’ll follow

and bring us home to

a bright, joyful tomorrow

when we lay down our burdens,

come to Him heart and soul,

repent our wayward ways

and we give Him control;

stop taking detours,

all our stubborn wandering

and just follow Him,

our Lord, Savior, God, King,

He will fill us with hope,

ease our dread and despair,

guard us with His grace and mercy

if we’d just say a prayer,

trust each moment to Him,

both our day and our night,

and listen to Him

and walk in His light.
