Let me be
Your heart’s anchor
When you are weary
And in need of a stronghold
Let me wipe
Away your tears
When you need to cry

Let me paint
You beautiful rainbows
To cheer you up
When you are feeling low
Let me draw a smile
Upon your lips
When you are feeling blue

Let me help
You mend your heart
When you are aching
Let me gather
Your shattered dreams
And put them all together
When you are disheartened

Let me be
The gentle wind
Beneath your wings
And I will carry you
To where you want to go
To chase your dreams
At the end of the rainbow

Let me be
The mirror of your soul
So I can feel
One with you
In spirit, heart, and mind
And be able to
Know you through and through

Let me be
The one true friend
That’s always beside you
To hold your hand
Through your ups and downs
Along life’s highways
Throughout all the years

Let me be
Forever a part of you

I appreciate all your comments, everyone. Actually, my main inspiration for writing this poem is my only child, who will be turning 8 next month.I am sure most, if not all parents share the same sentiments. Thank you very much.
