With a global recession, let’s not let it get us down into a depression.

So we all knew way before Christmas,
that the downward trend was going to last.
Caused by banking whizz-kids and Government again,
making the tax-payers take all the financial strain.
The warnings were there long, long time ago,
when the housing market was very, very slow.
We can look beyond that time to loan shark’s torment,
at ridiculous interest rates that left people outspent.
But we know what the credit cards would bring,
to empty the borrower’s wallets, what a sting!
Many would spend, spend until they couldn’t pay back,
with the financial budgeting knowledge they did lack.
Letters landing on the doormat printed in red,
many like our Government would bury it’s head,
hoping things would iron out with the Banks
but all they have done is to produce the blanks.
“Blame the globe for our recession,” Our PM would say
“because I’m alright Jack, everyone else can pay.”
For all the tax-payer’s money that has been lost
by this useless Government at a colossal cost
“So what can we do,” many would ask,
the anwswer would be an impossible task,
to get rid of the Government is a stark reaction,
of a majority of the people who would call for action.
Now the bank’s shares are getting thin,
Oh what a Financial mess we’re in.

    Oh what a pickle indeed
    when the poor man suffers
    for the rich man’s greed!

    Good work

Very true. I’m glad I have simple tastes and I never relied on loans and credit cards, otherwise, I would have been in big trouble.

    Tim,
I believe its time for the rich to take the blame along with our governments who favor them more than the poor. If it wasn’t for the poor the rich wouldn’t be rich. The poor not only builds and makes the products on the market, but they also buy the products, and yet the rich snub their noses at the poor! I think the poor deserve to live in the mansion and drive the fancy cars, beings we’re the one that work hard to put these products on the market. Give us six figure wages!

    Great poem, Tim!!!
