This poem I wrote for my late uncle Carl who drowned in the Muskingum River when he was only 21 years old.
As I gaze upon the water in sight
I see the reflection of nature
Shimmering in the sunlight
It calls out my name
In a language I don’t understand
It guides my vision further
And takes me by the hand
It confuses my mind
But gives me a sign
It tells me Mother Nature is coming home
But I know I won’t be alone
For I have the Lord as my strength
And he tells me that my life
Has come to its length
I inhale deeply
For I know it’s my last breath
He leads me to a world, where there is
Life after Death
