A short poem about death and grief.

Each day she sits by the window

watching for the car that will never come.

She waits for the familiar voice.

She waits for the loving smile,

the comforting hug.

Each day lived in a memory

long since passed.

Each waking moment

a tribute to the grief.

No magic fix

no cure for her broken soul.

She waits alone for her time to come.

Life in a memory of time long gone.
