A POEM WHILE THINKING ABOUT LIFE ON A SMALL ISLAND.

early in the mourning birds flying accross the sky, a man gets in his car for work and kisses his wife goodbye a grandmother sets her bread out to cool,While a mother rushes her children off to school ,cars rushing down boardway, teachers prepareing thier classes for the day, waves rushing in around the pier any early mourning drunks drinking there beer, and some where else a gardner notices a flower that has seem to spourt up out of the ground, while a husband and wife fights to make the marriage sound, and in john sealy a baby is just being born to its mother, while a child and wishes his for absentee father, accross town another senseless fight takes place as a crowd surround them as they get ready to rumble,On 29th street  another building is being torn down as the family stands by to watch it crumble,I start to hear sounds of thunder all this is life in Galveston i ponder…..MAJESTY T

I spent many months in Galveston (before the hurricane came and wiped out so much) in the domecile of UTMB. I went at 15 weeks into my pregnancy and had to stay hospitalized until the baby was born at 31 weeks, then another 2 months with him in the NICU. This poem really hit home because it reminded me of all those days I spent worrying, wondering, praying.. it will always be a second home! All the pictures of the beach in my profile are in Galveston!!
