Life is always changing, each day having its own ebb and flow, sometimes wild and rushing, other times peacefully calm, not unlike a river…Read more.

LIFE IS LIKE A RIVER

I see my life as like a river

as it flows through each day,

sometimes in a maddening rush,

some days meandering on its way,

gentle, seems so peaceful

despite the falls that it tore through;

I think life is like a river

for both me and you.

Our life goes cascading like the waters

along the river’s wind,

rippling, flowing, rushing

With the passing of circumstance and time,

sometimes calm and sometimes churning

through seasons of sun and ice…

But always moving onward

as do the seasons of our life.

    Excellent. Have you read my post “Like Rivers…” They’re quite uncannily similar. Great minds think alike eh? Go have a look. It’s quite high up on my portfolio.

    Sheila, No I hadn’t read it. Just went to your portfolio and looked it up. Great write and WOW! the form, never tried that, or even heard of it as a matter of fact. Knew about it as a frontwards-backwards word but never thought of it as a use in sentence structure. Makes an awesome poem. Yes we did follow the same theme. Mine is a poem I wrote some time ago and is in my book THOUGHTS OF A GREEN MOUNTAIN GIRL…not yet published. I really like your poem too.
