A poem by Harrison Stannard (enjoy) – showing the extreme and unique thrill of life without limits.
Life on the Edge:
Life without limits,
is a dream that never ends.
you don’t know what is there,
or just around the bend.
You think of fame and wonder,
which of them you can be.
i tell you now its not all fun, for living isnt free.
You wake up late some days more than others,
you run for the train, to school or your mothers.
You get shouted at by your boss,
say you had a bad day.
but when they ask you,
you say you’re okay,
but really you’re hurt. upset and just plain.
Be a man, stop playing games.
You act the fool, the man, the flirt,
but all you try is new shoes and a shirt.
you play your games and ride your bikes, go out for meals and holidays with a small flight,
you never go far and want to be the best, pretend your god and ready to smite.
pretend you care and get in a fight,
who are you to say you live on the edge.
But this my friend is not what living on the edge is about,
its about the rush, the fear – the screams and shouts.
You may say you came first on your game,
but to me its just a waste and shame,
try be a hero and earn your name.
Where’s the skydiving, motorcross and fighting,
saving the bank and being almighty.
Be different,
why jump off a cliff only five foot tall,
when you could jump the height of the albert hall.
who are you calling weak and scared,
stop watching tv and running upstairs.
go paragliding or absailing in fact,
you may not keep all bones in tact.
but when it comes to it,
tell me what’s the point.
you carry on the same old life…
You wake up late some days more than others,
you run for the train, to school or your mothers.
you say you’re okay,
but really you’re hurt.
No, no one lives forever,
we all have to go one day.
but who wants to go having their life all grey,
you can make something be what you want.
because,
Life without limits,
is a dream that never ends.
you don’t know what is there,
or just around the bend.
You think of fame and wonder,
which of them you can be.
do a little and live a lot,
soon you will see
you can be any, just like me.
