Written by Saphyre, a member of the EQ1 guild known as Darkmoon. Saphyre was a dark elf who devoted her life to the service of her guild and the fictional god, Innoruuk.

A prophet came from far off land
and Darkmoon took her by the hand.
Its Patriarch, both strict yet kind,
had welcomed her with food and wine,
for he had “seen” she was the one.
The prophecy had just begun.
Her gift was from the Prince of Hate
and Darkmoon was to be her fate.
She knows she’s young and not so strong
but Darkmoon helps her, right or wrong.
They know the prophecy fulfilled
requires she be in their guild.
As days go by she learns to fight
and studies hard both day and night.
She shares her sight. She cooks and scribes
while siblings guard her with their lives.
Oh Innoruuk, she does her best
to serve her “family” is her quest.

Hail Darkmoon!

The metre in this is exceptional as are the details that really conveys the imagery for telling this story with clarity. Excellent writing! MIchael

Gorgeous! Her face is a moon she’s in a dark room…wonderful, second-life? Mystical, barrier breaking stuff. j

And now we know why the Hooded Man (in A RING OF STARS: THE ENEMY OF MY ENEMY) has left her so disturbed. :)

Nice job — elegant traditional poetry. I notice that the spelling of your protagonist’s name has changed since this poem was written.

Saphyre is Zaphyre’s mom! Saphyre was an enchantress for Darkmoon. Heheh! Thank you all for your comments!

I like the rhyme I wasnt too hip on the subject. But it does nothing to diminish your talent .You are talented for sure

Thanks for your clarification, Leafygreens. Saphyre is Zaphyre’s mother, then? (”I distinctly remember forgetting that,” as someone once put it!) And like mother, like daughter: unsure of herself. I\’m sure there’s a tale or three in there.
