One of my cherished poem.

My place of residence is on a page

Which tells the story of a toddler

It’s weight was little until he did engage

In love, with the daughter of a cobbler.

As days past, his life slowly changed

And so its weight became heavy

One fine day he secretly arranged

His wedding, before departing for the navy.

I learned one stormy winter night

Life is incomplete without a change

Battling my way in absence of right.

I found myself in a land so strange.

My tender body torn and tattered

From the thorns of wild ugly trees

Memories of my home now lay shattered

And I was lost in a pile of debris.

Now I have grown old from life’s past toil

A lone wanderer with none to trust

tired of facing the daily turmoil

My new home lies in the trampled dust.

It was upon a chilly eve

God sprinkled a ray of hope

In His twisted play He did deceive

In my arrogance, I failed to cope.

But alas! My new home is a painful place

As I was crushed under its weight

Pages of sorrow, hate and disgrace

Taunted me to accept the bait.

Time passed by and I slowly learned

There more to the sorrow and pain

From unanswered questions my wisdom earned

An intricate lesson that I can sustain.

It was my time to move again

This time to a far-off place

The wind carried me and I uncertain

When it will end, this journey of grace.

One clear morning I found myself

Carefully placed in a mystical page

I also found my brethren in a shelf

Gently poised despite his age.

Forbidden knowledge leaped in my soul

With the depth of a sevenfold moon

Heavenly bliss my senses could not control

Mind, body, on fire but heart in swoon.

My heart cried out in unison with my soul

When I was blown away by the northern wind

Maybe it was that my nature was foul

Or is it I the one who have sinned?

But I find to my great surprise

I have landed in my old home

And death to him came at a price

As she was left all alone.

The last few pages were drenched with pain

Casting a deep scar on her fate

But still the sorrow failed to drive me insane

As those sacred books reminded me, how little was their weight.

Finally realization dawned upon me

And I erased all the strife

Raising my head I could clearly see

LOVE IS ALL, in this sweet circle of life.

Thanks so much for this endearing, perfectly written piece of writing, Miraj :) Feathers are one of my favourite things. It’s nice to see you put in words the “Life Story of a Feather” in a way of a travelling hobo. That was very clever indeed.
This is truely marvellous :) I like it very much!
