We all see the world in our own way. But rarely do we ever see the world from the perspective of others. If we take a moment to see the world through the eyes of someone else, we may be happier; we may get along with others better too.
may I ask again
what she did
to make you so mad
you tell me, slowly this time,
that she took the new hat,
while in a frightening rage,
and sliced holes all over it
now the hat,
which was once big and red,
floppy too,
looks like a hair net
one of those people would wear
as they walk the streets
looking for a job
oh well I say
then I ask you
have you ever wondered why
she dresses the way she dresses
then I ask you
have you ever wondered why
her hands are so big
and if you ever noticed things
like the lump in her throat
as she talks in a deep voice
but then it is I who realized things
like how you only see the world
through rose colored glasses
and how you only see this world
the way you want to see it
you need to see,
kind of grow up too,
and look at this world
the way others see it
because life
isn’t always your way,
the way you envision it to be
