Oh impertinent riffraff.

Light is a rain
of microscopical jewels
that goes painting
the celestial vault.

Light is; then, a snowfall
of chilly tears,
that comes swirling a blizzard
over the canvas of the planet.

Oh impertinent, riffraff,
and fraudulent light:
Why do you cover the mantle
of the sidereal orb?

The light will always shine above distorted truths. For light and darkness are a battle to which the light will always win. Very well said Toni I love your imagination and your train of thought for you help make the light shine. Bertie

I loved this poem. My favorite line is, “Light is; then, a snowfall of chilly tears,”

Wonderful and written with such feeling.

  • tonisan60 on Aug 25, 2008

Thank you Darlene, that is my favourite line too, because what I am trying to explain is that under depression, also light can be painful.
The first symptom of depression is the distortion of reality, and this is the reason for the title.
Thank you again for your support, God bless you.
