In lighting a fire you build me up and cause me to defend your name.

Light my fire

As with a combustion

Of material with oxygen

To set my love aflame

With your passion

- – -

Illuminate my mind

Light it as it has never been

Lit before

Making everything

As brilliant as reflecting gemstones

- – -

Strengthen my body

By challenging me

To the marathon of life

Don’t let me play

With fire

But let me have a glazing burn

After I come from a kiln

- – -

When I fire a gun

Let me do no harm

But use this weapon

As in a hunting sport

In defending you

No one should take advantage

Exploit, degrade or take

Other liberties with you

- – -

Let me sparkle spiritually

From the celestial fires

Brought down from the heavens

The delightful manna

That sets me as a parishioner on fire

Before the presence of God

- – -

But don’t let me be caught

Between two fires

Where I’ll burn incessantly

But rather build a fire

Under me to help me

Make decisions quickly

- – -

I don’t want to fight fire with fire

But instead go through

Fire and water

To win your hand

The headline immediately reminded me of Jim Morison and the Doors “Come on,baby, light my fire”…
