You really are the bolt of lightning…

His words illuminate the night sky

And by this I was so enlightened.

I fell in love with him, that’s why.

That boy is made of lightnin’.

It’s not that static clings to him and me

But he’s beautiful in more ways one could see.

His heart is a powerhouse of electric charge

And his soul is a wonder of colorful sparks.

When he’s not here, he still sleeps in my pocket;

When he’s around, my heart is a rocket.

His lips will graze me and leave behind a thrilling tingle

As, on my skin, the opposite charges mingle.

My stomach gets tremors and I shudder and smile,

Electrocuted by a love that could reach me for miles.

But unlike the real thing, which is gone in a flash,

This boy’s got an energy that’s sure to last.

The bolts in the sky just come and go,

But with him it’s different, and I love him so.
