The lovers are not Romeo and Juliet or anybody like them. The lovers are the Earth and the Moon.
We’re all set and ready to rock
The hatch is sealed, the door is locked
We’re seated in ‘THE LIMOUSINE’
The largest ship you’ll have ever seen
The last survivors of our extirpated race
I loosen my belt and start to pace
Hoping to the lord this mission doesn’t fail
We’re going to mars, leaving ashes in our trail
Mother earth is a collection of graves
6 billion dead, only 96 of us saved
What started this was no nuclear war
It was an undetected meteor
It flew through the skies, as though astray
Its target was the earth, but the moon came in its way
With so much power stuffed in its core
It rammed into the moon and crippled it with a roar
The moon was gone, just a shower of rocks
The earth was bombarded with jolts and shocks
Asia and Africa were the first to go
Drowned in the ocean by the tidal flow
The Earth and the Moon, like lovers they lived
And a proud and intelligent life they conceived
But now when everything was washed in the tide
The Earth and the Moon, like lovers they died
