So many fear the limelight, afraid to risk today, thinking they’re lose tomorrow. I say, as I have feared so many years, that we all should take the stage and learn to accept the limelight.
Fearing impending failure
Shadow becomes my friend
An ally of protection
From meeting with an end
For if I never start, then
No light will shine my way
Dreams will forever be dreams
As night won’t change to day
~~~~~~()~~~~~~
So sad, if life takes refuge under
Midnight shadows of the moon
To never walk in midday sun
Escaping light of summer’s June
I must take risk of that chanced failure
And venture from the roads of night
To make attempts, despite results
Is success, itself, within the light
