A personal poem about the elements.

Listen to the Elems
Beautiful chimes, wind’s exquisite humming voices
Breathtaking drizzles, rain’s harmonic operatic voices
Inspirational displays, fire’s reverberating puffed voices
Unforgettable panorama, earth’s thrumming groaning voices
Pristine whiteout, cold’s tranquil unspoken voices

Air
Resembling a child humming their own melody. Chimes jingle in the backdrop, in peace.
Like a woman scorned, screams shattering the setting, in rage.

Water
Akin to a chorus intensifying, soothing, consoling, when falling, in peace.
Like Poseidon stuck with a thorn, merciless, crashing, when rising, in rage.

Fire
Reminiscent of heating up bitter hands with one’s breath; bringing life and strength, in peace.
Melting like a candle, unbending blisters scorching wherever it pleases, in rage.

Earth
Groans like an aged man, shaping perpetually like a portion of clay, in peace.
Shrieking like a terrified beast, stirring the foundations without care for what is, in rage.

Cold
Stillness timeless and peaceful, the hush of the absolute falling, delicately and inaudibly, in peace.
Freezing flesh to bone, burying the misfortunate in an eternal quiet crypt, in rage.
