You came to us.
You came to us not long ago,
With your bright warm smile,
And your sparkling eyes all aglow,
That promised us you’d be here for quite awhile.
You were the apple of mom’s eye,
That couldn’t wait to fall from the tree,
Like a bird you wanted to fly,
Everything you did said look at me.
You made everyone proud from that first day,
Then you wanted to set the world a flame,
And without warning you spread your wings to fly away,
We knew then nothing would be the same.
Before we knew it you were gone,
With your wings spread wide,
It didn’t take long,
For our little angel to fly to heaven to sit at the lords side.
