Sometimes kindness comes from unusual sources.
He was certainly a gifted man who lived at the edge of town,
his yard and porch was decorated artfully by the things that he had found.
Each day he would begin his day with a few bags and his walking stick,
to return later in the day and begin to paint and fix.
The children absolutely adored him and would often gather round,
he would tell picturesque stories for each treasure he had found.
He shared this little treasures as if he had a list,
on the porch of many he would leave something he had fixed.
Sadley as is the way of life, one day his presence was missed and it was the children first that found he was dreadfully sick.
Too many of their lives he had touched with his amazing tales
so when he left this world they followed his beaten trails.
There in the village courtyard now stand a work of art,
dedicated to his name and the children all do their part.
Each day someone brings a gift and places it there to see
a true testament of the gift of life, just as he had meant it to be.
