This poem is about a frog who finds himself in a little bit of a predicament.
There was a frog named Jayden
Who loved to play all day
He’d hop and swim and croak
With nothing in his way.
One day when he wasn’t looking
He took a frightful leap
And right into a wishing well
He fell into a heap
He croaked and cried and trembled
And hollered for his Mom
He waited for a long time
He waited for her to come
When finally she heard
His tearful sad little cries
She looked down into the well
Into his big green sad little eyes
“Don’t worry little Jayden
Your Mommy is right here
Listen to what I have to say
And be a brave, brave little dear”
“Gather up all your strength my son
And give a big strong leap
Then you will come into my arms
In a grateful, blessed heap”
Trying to be brave
And wiping away his tears
Little Jayden gathered all his strength
And forgot about his fears
Out of the well, he did jump
With all the strength he had
He hopped right into his mother’s arms
He was truly a brave little lad
His Mom hugged and squeezed and kissed him
And held him with all her might
“I’m so glad you’re safe and unhurt”, she said
“Because you gave me such a fright”
Now when little Jayden plays
He’s careful where he goes
He watches everywhere he hops
Playing safely is what he now knows.
