Staying truthful to oneself.

The little white lie it starts out small and is never meant to grow
It slowly takes up space as the story so unfolds.
What was only meant to be quite small has now just up and grown
Its taken pride to know its seed is planted and is sown.
The little white lie that started out to be nothing but just that
Has somehow taken itself too far and nothing can get it back.
It’s wrapped itself around the truth and boasts about its win
The truth is trying all it can to stay and fight the sin.
The moral of this message is truth is much too bright
To ever let that little white lie out in broad daylight.
Stay truthful to yourself today, tomorrow and next year
For when you let the truth be known the white lie shan’t be near.

Great poem! You are a true wordsmith. Yes, those little white lies..they turn into monsters.
