Poem.
Many years ago
There was a lady who gave birth to the mother of a son
Many tears ago
There was a war that tore them apart under the laughing sun
Times long gone
Passed by like a sandtstorm in an hourglass
Lives long gone
Hurry through a story of an otherworldly past
Many years ago
There were meadows where now there’s concrete
Many tears ago
People still went on although they knew peace would fleet
Times long gone
Faded out like the ending of a song
Lives long gone
Slipped out quietly as if they’d done us wrong
What was it like back then?
Were there things I’ll never see, never ever feel?
And where I’m standing…are they all here
All those years ago, right now?
Blood of our souls, flesh of our hearts
Used to run freely where now we are
They may have left with streams of tears
But we’re still here
We’re still here
