Through even tough times, love can survive….as long as you have each other.Money is not always the root to happiness….

Living on Love….

You and I will never be rich,
We’ll just get by, once we are hitched.
Our pockets, true, will not overflow,
things could be tight, but we’ll give it a go.
‘Cos we have something, that too few have found,
A love so deep, it still truly astounds.
So bread and cheese may end up our fare,
but that is a banquet, as long as you’re there.
And if the odd penny, we could get some Ham,
See, already our menu will quickly expand…
And should we be brassic, well no worries have I,
‘Cos despite very little, we’ll always get by.
What we have here between us, was blessed by above,
We will always have plenty, ‘cos we’re living on Love.

I enjoyed reading this poem Songbird. You have expressed in words how you can only survive with bread and cheese in your life, and the occasional treat like some ham etc. You need a bit extra than this in your world to have some sort of life, and this extra is love…Great words….take care….Richard,,,,;-)

Glad that you liked my light hearted approach to this, my friend. It made me smile a lot as I wrote it, and surely love is the most important food for the heart and soul, even it is can leave an empty stomach…lol…x
