We’ve read in the New Testament

About Jesus feeding thousands

With a couple of loaves and fishes

It seems so amazing to me

That up to this day

I can hardly believe it

All that was written

Was, the Jesus prayed

Broke the bread and fishes

Giving thanks

And fed them to thousands present

- – -

I wonder about how so many

Were fed in this simple way

Did it really work?

Did some of Jesus followers

Have loaves and fishes

Stash away some place?

- – -

If that was the case

Wouldn’t his followers

Have detected this trick?

To add to this mystery

Was the fact

That there were baskets

Of food remaining

What happened

To the leftovers?

Do we multiply our food

In today’s world

As Jesus did?

It seems as though

We’ve more than enough

And like Him

A large portion remains

Only to be dumped

- – -

Is this the way

It has to be?
