Remembering my younger years.

As picturesque as it may be, it’s not as big as the sea,
Loch Lomond is where I spent my younger years.
Being on the water is what is normal to me.
It’ just a wonderful place to be.
My dad had a boat called the Sea sprite.
And it all lit up in the night.
At the Narrows we would sleep in the cabin.
And around the camp fire we would sing.
We would paddle in the shallow waters.
And see how far stones would skim.
Next day when we woke, we would head over to Luss.
Luss is a beach full of fun.
My dad would start the barbecue, and my Mum would laze in the sun.
We would go for a swim and play with our new friends.
I miss those days on the Bonny banks of Loch Lomond.
I wish they never had to end.

You did well describing your memories here, I was curled up on your boat with the twinkling lights, how lovely!

Your poem would make any child want to visit loch lomond and have as much fun as you did. I too have visited loch lomond at Duck bay and it is a great place.

Sounds like an absolutely wonderful place to spend those early years. And you can always go there when you chose.
