Self inventory is always in order before criticizing some one else. This is what this poem is about.

Are the people I critique as horrible,

blind. ornery, and, like me, full of sin?

Am I so pure with self-righteousness

that I stop me from looking within?

Now there are times when I say stop

especially when viewing the cross.

Then the tears start flowing and I repent

and prayerfully thank God He paid the cost.

If I would always think before I spoke

to others who never knew His love.

I know my words I would carefully choose

because of God’s great Good News.

When I stop and look with in my

heart so dark that sin had me say.

I ask God to forgive my foul thoughts

Then He brightens up my day.
