A poem about messing up and God’s forgiveness.
Lord, I don’t know why you
love me like you do
casue every time I turn around
seems I’m messing up again
Time after time I end up
doing what I don’t want to do
and what I truly want to do
well, You know that I don’t
Oh wretched one that I am
Who can save me from this death
Only you can, only you can.
Every time that I fall down
Lord you pick me up
and each and every time I say
I’ll never do that again
Each time you deliver me
I promise I’ll do better
tomorrow and then tomorrow comes
and I do it all over again
Oh wretched one that I am
Who can save me from this death
Only you can, only you can
And Lord I thank you
that there’s no condemnation
only love and forgiveness
that flows from your face
For I am in you and you are in me
and I bow in surrender to you
as your river of love and life
washes over me
Wretched sometimes, yes I am
But your love has set me free
So even when I don’t do what
I really want to do
You take all of my messes
and make them into
your successes
And for that I thank you Lord
For only you can, only you can
take me from death to life
