This is a poem I wrote back in middle school about a dog of mine that died.
Your brown soft & gentle eyes,
Oh so filled with comfort & long lasting love.
Your body speckled & strong for your endurance,
Your ears perk up to listen to me,
Your tail wags with excitement,
Or a welcoming lick.
When I’m sad,
You cuddle up to me & give me a sweet,
Gentle kiss to try to perk me up.
I trained you since you were small,
You’ve always known when I needed you most,
How come you were always there?
Well whatever the reason,
I shall miss you,
No wonder why the call the dog,
Man’s best friend,
Loyal Companion,
Trusting &comforting soul in the world.
The day that I lost you,
I lost half of my life,
All of my companion,
Half of me,
Half of my future,
Half of my happiness,
& most of all,
My heart & soul.
