A very short poem.
I feel like I’m losing something.
They say it won’t matter in a while.
When the sun rises,
your eyes still wide open,
your body killing you with worry and blinding fatigue,
to just stay away.
The salt in the ocean will be counted,
just for you,
because you’re so important.
They say we’ll look back,
and see how stupid we were,
but when I look back,
I only see all the things I could have done,
like never letting go of you,
the only one I ever loved.
