When life was so simple and we were a
Much kinder people, when all we needed
Was love and each other. Our gifts didn’t
Come from the Department store, they
Came from the heart, and each gift was
Made with love. The trimmings on the
Tree was homemade and so beautiful.
Our holiday cakes, pies and cookies
Didn’t come from the store, they were
All homemade with my mother’s love.
Christmas was all about celebrating
The birth of Christ and not about the
Money. If this Christmas of long ago
