A poem about Lothlorien from The Lord of the Rings.

The leaves are falling,

Here in Lothlorien.

The ground is coated with their beautiful golden leaves.

The ground looks as though it’s been covered,

with all of King Thranduils treasure.

Those magnificent trees won’t stay bare for long.

I cannot wait until they are green again.

Then I can walk the paths once more;

which were made by the light steps of elvish feet.

Some of them think I cannot comprehend its beauty

but I see it as clearly as they do.

But in my own human way I think I understand better than they do.

For one day I am destined to fall

just like the leaves on the trees.

So I shall wait till the woods of my new home are lush again

In the woods of Lothlorien.

    the mood is in accordance with the novel.. naturalistic and you can feel the springing of hope and acceptance.. nicely done..

    It is a beautiful poem, but I’m ashamed to say that I have yet to read the Lord of the Ring trilogy. It is something I must remedy soon. Of course I’ve seen the movies, but I prefer books to movies any day of the week.
